basic of optics

Optics :- optics is the branch of physics in which we study about nature and properties of light.
Type of optics :- basically optics are of two types
1. Physical optics
2. Geometrical optics
3. physiological optics
4. Quantum optics
1. Physical optics :- The branch of optics in which we study about interference, diffraction, polarization and other phenomena for which the Ray approximation of geometric optics is not valid is called physical optics. It is also called wave optics.

2. Geometrical optics :-  The branch of optics in which we study light propagation in terms of ray is called geometric optics. It is also called Ray optics.

3. Physiological optics :-  physiological optics is concerned with the perceptual processes eye and its associated neuronal structure in the brain.

4. Quantum optics :- quantum optics is a field of research that uses semi-classical and quantum mechanical physics who investigate phenomena involving light and its interactions with matter at submicroscopic level. In other words, it is quantum mechanics applied to photons or light.

Light :- light is electromagnetic wave and transverse wave. Light is the form of energy which excite our sensation of vision.

Ray :- line of light , heat or energy is called Ray.
