What is the cause of Rainbow?
ans:- A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.
The back of observer should be towards the sun.
There are two types of Rainbow -
1. Primary Rainbow
2. Secondary Rainbow
1. Primary Rainbow
When sunlight suffer two times refraction and one time T.I.R (total internal reflection) then Primary Rainbow occur. It is more bright than secondary rainbow.
The expansion of primary rainbow is from 41* to 43* in which red is at the top and violet is at the bottom.
2. Secondary Rainbow
when sunlight suffer two times refraction and two time T.I.R (total internal reflection) the Secondary Rainbow occur.

The expansion of primary rainbow is from 51* to 54* in which violet is at the top and red is at the bottom.
when light passes through suspended water droplets in the atmosphere , they are refracted and total internal reflected . Due to these phenomena concentric arc of seven colors are visible in the sky , it is called RAINBOW.
